In past lesson we have covered seconds, fourths, and sevenths. The only note of the scale we have yet to include is the sixth chord. The sixth is a less used chord and is more of an odd duck but defiantly has a place in your chord knowledge.
Using the major scale we find our sixth. In C it will be A. Adding this to our C chord gives us C, E, G, and A. Like the seconds and fourths we can chose to omit our third if we chose. Here is a movable sixth shape (can be used anywhere on the neck producing the chord that is in bass) with all four notes of the chord.
Try moving this chord up and down the neck to make different sixth chords.
